Project Type

Arsenic/Chromium Soil Stabilisation for Industrial Redevelopment

Project Summary

Delivered RemBind® products for immobilisation of arsenic and chromium contaminated soil at a former wood treatment plant being redeveloped for commercial/industrial use. Contaminated soils were successfully treated in-situ using a 5% addition rate of both RemBind® 100 and RemBind® Alum, eliminating the need for costly off-site disposal and enabling onsite reuse under paved areas.

Project Outcomes

  • Significant cost savings achieved by avoiding landfill disposal costs estimated to be prohibitively expensive for 1,600 tonnes of contaminated soil.

  • Circular economy approach implemented by beneficial reuse of alum sludge waste product and retention of treated soil on-site.

  • Environmental sustainability achieved through elimination of transport emissions and landfill burden while maintaining regulatory compliance.

  • 87% arsenic reduction and >99% chromium reduction in soil leachability, enabling safe long-term retention within the redevelopment footprint.

Proven at Scale

RemBind provides commercially proven remediation solutions at full project scale, delivering consistent performance across complex and high-risk contamination challenges globally.
