SYNOPSIS
  • Immobilisation of PFAS in soil using amendments such as RemBind®, organoclays and PAC is a viable treatment alternative.
  • PFAS immobilisation using RemBind® has been used at full commercial scale to treat 1,000’s of tonnes of soil in Europe.
  • A case study involving the treatment of 1,000 tonnes of PFAS contaminated soil in Australia with full EPA sign-off is highlighted.
  • Independent work by a Swedish research group showing that PFAS leachability in soil was reduced by 94% using RemBind® and by 70% using PAC.
